Dewatering And Groundwater Monitoring
Groundwater presents a significant problem for land development, particularly where new developments intersect an existing groundwater system. Dewatering during construction will often be required to allow the development to be constructed. Regulatory authorities usually prefer that a tanked basement is included but it is possible to obtain approval and licencing for a permanently dewatered basement, provided that it can be demonstrated that the groundwater take and impact are within acceptable limits.
Dewatering has the potential to cause excessive settlement of adjoining land, and therefore an effective dewatering system must be carefully designed and monitored to manage this risk. Asset has the experience and track-record to understand and manage your groundwater risk, and to help you obtain the necessary regulatory authority approvals and licenses.
